Weekly pool cleaning in Los Angeles keeps your water clear, your chemistry in range and your equipment checked before small problems get expensive. We are owner-operated, so the person skimming, brushing and testing your pool is the same experienced pro every week.
This is full pool service, not a quick skim and go. If a pump seal or filter part is wearing out, you hear about it early, and our pool equipment repair is handled by the same licensed and insured company.
What's Included in Weekly Pool Service
- Skim the surface. Leaves, blossoms and insects netted out before they sink and stain the plaster.
- Brush walls, steps and tile line. Brushing breaks up the film that algae and scale build on.
- Vacuum the floor. Settled dirt leaves the pool instead of drifting back.
- Empty baskets. Skimmer and pump baskets cleared so the pump is never starved for water.
- Test and dose. Free chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, stabilizer and, for salt pools, salt. Our pool chemical service page explains each reading.
- Check the equipment. Filter pressure, pump sounds, drips at the pad, timer and heater.
Your photo and six-reading report
Before we leave, you get a text with a photo of the pool and the six numbers we measured. The photo shows the water and floor as we left them. The numbers show whether the water is safe: the CDC recommends a home pool pH of 7.0 to 7.8 and at least 1 ppm of free chlorine, or at least 2 ppm when the pool uses stabilizer. (Source: CDC)
When a reading was off, the report notes what we added. Over a season those texts become a history of your pool, which makes a tired salt cell or a slow calcium climb easy to spot early.
Signs You Need Weekly Pool Maintenance
- You spend Saturday mornings netting leaves instead of swimming.
- The water turns hazy or faintly green after a hot stretch.
- Chlorine seems to vanish by mid-afternoon.
- White scale is creeping along the tile line (our tile and calcium cleaning removes it).
Why every week? Strong sun burns off chlorine, warm water feeds algae, and trees and wind keep dropping leaves that use up sanitizer. The annex to the CDC's model pool code notes that algae are harder to control than most bacteria and viruses, and that sunlight and warm water make control harder. - First visitWe learn your equipment, gate access and trouble spots, and record a clean filter pressure. Read more about our owner-operated pool service.
- Clean top to bottomSkim, brush, vacuum and empty baskets in the same order every week, so nothing gets skipped.
- Test before dosingWe measure first and adjust in measured steps, never adding shock out of habit.
- Check the padPressure is compared with the clean baseline, and the pump and plumbing get a look and a listen.
- Text the reportThe photo and readings arrive on your phone, with a note on anything that needs attention.
What to Do Between Weekly Visits
- Leave the pump on its normal schedule, even when nobody swims.
- Pull out big branches or palm fronds after a windy night so they do not jam the skimmer.
- Keep the water level around the middle of the skimmer opening.
- Tell us about big parties or a heat wave so we can plan for extra chlorine demand.
If you like to check in yourself, the CDC advises testing chlorine and pH at least twice a day, and more often when the pool is in use. (Source: CDC) A test strip on a busy weekend tells you whether to call us before the next visit.
Weekly Pool Service Options Compared
| Option | Best for | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly full service | Most LA pools, especially under trees or with a spa | A standing visit, but month to month and little for you to do |
| Chemistry-only service | Owners who like to skim and brush | You still clean every week |
| Do it yourself | Owners with time and safe chemical storage | Chemical handling at home; easy to fall behind in summer |
| One-time cleaning | A reset before a party or sale | Water drifts again within days |
What Affects the Cost of Weekly Pool Cleaning
- Pool size and shape. More surface means more brushing and vacuuming.
- Attached spa. A spa adds its own cleaning and chemistry.
- Trees. Heavy leaf drop means longer visits and more filter work.
- Starting condition. A green or neglected pool needs a recovery clean first.
